Who We Are

Outshine is a tight-knit team driven by a desire to learn, to tackle real-world sales and marketing challenges, and to make a difference in the lives of our clients.

Curiosity is what fuels our fire—each team member at Outshine has an insatiable appetite to test, tweak, throw away, and start over, learning all the while what works, what doesn’t, and what can be done better next time.

Why Join Us?

Quite simply: it’s fun and rewarding to work with colleagues who truly care about what they’re doing. Doing better than we did the day before is what gets us out of bed in the morning, and as a company, we’re adamant about being a place that people enjoy coming to work at every day. Our people are our greatest asset, and we don’t make any mistake about that. We invest in our people just as they invest in us.

One of the things our colleagues love most about Outshine is our approach to work.

The biggest difference? We’re all doers.

From the president to the analyst, we all lead, we all do, and we are all accountable to our clients and to each other. Every single person on the Outshine team has just as much ownership within the company as the partners do—it’s the secret sauce to us producing the best results for our clients.

What We Value

Our values are our guiding principles—they drive the decisions made at Outshine and are a distillation of our firm’s cumulative decades of experience in professional services.

They are principles that we believe keep us on the straight and narrow—as long as we come back to these values, we feel confident in knowing we’ll make the best decisions for the company, and for each other.
At Outshine, we:
  • Provide value to each of our clients.
We make sure to understand what our clients value, and how to deliver it for them. We are committed to unparalleled customer service and supporting our customers within their roles.
  • Build trust—internally & externally.
With clients and with each other, we believe in transparency at all costs, even when it means having the difficult conversations first.
  • Take action.
We’re all doers. Each team member at Outshine takes ownership over their work and moves things forward as best as they can, despite their role or the task at hand.
  • Invest in ourselves.
We invest in our team just as they invest in us, because the truth is, talented people can work anywhere. From training and travel opportunities, to conference budgets, schedule flexibility, mental health days, and more, we strive to do what’s best for our people.

What We Offer

Formal Mentorship Program
This program not only helps team members learn critical skills, but also develops important relationships within the company and builds professional experience in many facets of our business.

Participation & Community
Our team regularly gives us feedback to help shape a fulfilling work experience. New initiatives, ideas, and participation are always encouraged and welcomed.

“Being surrounded by intelligent and well-rounded colleagues from all walks of life creates an unrivaled culture at Outshine. The care our team exemplifies in their work and for each other is constant, whether you’re in the office or WFH.”

FAQs

Will I hear back either way once I’ve applied?
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, only candidates selected to move forward will be contacted. We appreciate your interest and the time taken to apply.
How long and what is the interview process?
We take a thoughtful, multi-step approach to hiring. If you move beyond the initial screening, you can typically expect two more rounds—three interviews in total. While timelines can vary depending on the role's seniority and other factors, the general process looks like this:

Step 1: Screening Call
Step 2: Second-Round Interview
Step 3: Final Conversation or Take-Home Assignment or Live Assignment
Do you offer internship or co-op opportunities?
Not right now - but our hiring needs evolve, so we recommend checking our Careers page regularly for new opportunities.
Do I need a degree to apply?
Not at all. We value initiative, curiosity, and a desire to learn, whether that comes from formal education, hands-on experience, or self-directed learning. A degree is not required.
How can I prepare for my interviews?
Take time to explore what we do and how we do it (there’s a lot of information about this on our website). Our hiring team truly appreciates candidates who’ve done their homework - it shows, and it makes a difference.
Do I need to relocate to work at Outshine?
Nope. While many of us are based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, we hire remotely across Canada. Our office in Halifax’s North End is available for team members who want to collaborate in person, enjoy a beautiful workspace, or escape the occasional chaos of home life (we see you, pet parents and toddler wranglers!).
How long does the decision-making process take?
We aim to keep candidates informed at every stage, though final decisions can sometimes take up to three weeks following the third interview. If you're ever unsure about next steps, don’t hesitate to reach out to your Outshine contact.
Do you offer visa sponsorship?
At this time, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship.
What if I need accommodations for my interview?
Outshine is an equal opportunity employer and we’re happy to provide accommodations to support your needs. Just let your contact know at least 48 hours before your interview so we can make the necessary arrangements.
How will I know if it’s real and not a scam if someone reaches out to me about a role at Outshine?
All of our current openings are listed on our official Careers page. If you’re ever contacted about a role that doesn’t appear there, feel free to reach out to Emily Yach, our People & Culture Manager, to verify its legitimacy.
